Dr. Feingold’s professional path changed
forever after the birth of her second daughter. Elisa was born with Cerebral Palsy. As a
pediatrician, Feingold knew how devastating
childhood illnesses could be and vowed to find some way to help
her daughter.
After three years of physical and occupational
therapies with little visible success, Dr. Feingold enrolled
Elisa in a cerebral palsy study stressing hyperbaric oxygen
therapy (HBOT). In just a few months, she was struck by the
tremendous advances in her daughter.
“When we started, Elisa spoke about 300 words,”
Feingold recalls. “We did 120 treatments between December, 1999
and April, 2000, and by July, her vocabulary had tripled to
well over 1,000 words.”
In 2001, she opened her own practice, using
two single mono place hyperbaric tanks and HBOT to treat an
assortment of conditions including cerebral palsy, autism, chronic
Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, cluster headaches,
and brain injuries.
To date, Feingold has successfully treated thousands of special
needs children.
